The James Dyson Award offers the opportunity to win $35,000 and gain international media exposure.
The James Dyson Award is looking for designers who think differently, to create products that work better. Engineers who follow an iterative design process. This is an international design award that celebrates, encourages and inspires the next generation of design engineers. It’s open to current and recent design engineering students, and is run by the James Dyson Foundation, James Dyson’s charitable trust, as part of its mission to get young people excited about design engineering.
Solvegia Pakštaitė, Founder of Mimica: “After winning the award retailers were getting in touch with me saying ‘if you make this we’ll buy it’ which made me realise there was a huge market opportunity for Mimica and I would be kicking myself if I didn’t take it forward.”
Ryan Yasin, Founder of Petit Pli: “The James Dyson Award gave me the backing and belief to take my idea forward.”
